What Happens When You Receive That Dreaded Call

What Happens When You Receive That Dreaded Call

Two years ago today the phone rang and with a heavy heart and much hesitation I answered. I recognized the number, it was my doctor, and I knew this call could go one of two ways. One would leave me jumping for joy and the other would bring me to tears. I'll never forget the words when she said..." You're biopsy came back positive for breast cancer". BOOM! I was floored!..

My Breast Cancer Journey

Hi all! It's been a while since writing a blog post. I'm doing great! Working really hard on building my Plexus business and painting like crazy! I had a follow up with my surgeon last week and everything went really well. All is good! It has been a year since finding out I had cancer and I've been cancer free since October. I am FREE!! I thought I would put my year into a video to recap it all. You all have been wonderful and supportive and I greatly appreciate each and every prayer! Watch this video to get the scoop...

Freedom, My Favorite Word!

Freedom, My Favorite Word!

HI all! It’s been quite some time since I have posted an update. My last post was in January and since then a lot has happened. For one, I have hair! First, it came in very salt & peppery along with lots of curls. I kind of looked like a wet poodle. I was fighting the curls, which became to be more of a hassle than anything, so I decided to color it brown and embrace the curls. I have had a follow-up visit with my Oncologist who told me on I was cancer free and in remission and also had a follow up with my Radiologist Oncologist that said I was free as well! Freedom! Life is amazing, right? I also started taking my “insurance policy”...

Wishing You All the Best for the Holidays

Wishing You All the Best for the Holidays

Hi All! I just finished my 30th radiation treatment, with only 4 more to go, and I'm feeling great! The skin where the treatments are focused is super tan but holding up really well (thank you Aloe Vera plant and Lavender oil!) It’s two days before Christmas and we are getting ready to close out this year shortly and wow, what a year it has been! My last radiation treatment is scheduled for January 31st and I promise you, I WILL BE CELEBRATING!

This year I have seen myself transform into who I have always desired to be. It’s been a wild ride, this breast cancer journey of mine, but through it all I feel wiser, stronger, happier, so loved and more alive than ever!...

Radiation #21, Only 13 More to Go!

Radiation #21, Only 13 More to Go!

Hi All!  I'm so happy to say I am now more than halfway through with radiation, and I'm feeling great! The only thing that I notice is that I'm needing a little extra sleep. Otherwise, I'm kickin' butt! I am so excited to be on track with all of this. I have 13 more treatments as of today and if I don't miss a day I will be finished by the end of the year, which was my goal.

Great things are happening! My hair is growing in (not sure what color it is yet), my eyebrows are back and I have little tiny eyelashes sprouting. Of course, hair is growing back everywhere else as well, which means I have to shave again, but that's OK, I'll take it!

I Have Some Fabulous News to Share!

Hi All!

I just left my surgeons office where I had the follow up from my surgery and it went really well! My doctor said everything was removed with great margins and no bad cells were found in the margins. I am cancer free!! I'm healing really well, my body is working perfectly and repairing quickly. I am so thrilled with all of the news they shared with me yesterday that I actually did a few leaps and turns while dancing a celebration dance.

Chemo is Over! Time to Celebrate!

Chemo is Over! Time to Celebrate!

HI All! I just completed my last Chemo treatment, woohoo!!!! I am so happy to have this part of my healing done! Yes, I have to deal with the side effects still but it’s all good, I got this! Right now I’m feeling like a truck hit me once more, but I know that in a few days I will be up and running again. It’s amazing how resilient our bodies are!

These last three weeks I have really been focusing my thoughts away from all of the scary things about disease and what makes us sick and instead focusing on what makes us healthy and I must say it has been fantastic! In my last post I mentioned how I have been practicing listening to my body and what it needs and in so doing I have really seen cool things happening...

Our Attitudes and Perspectives Are Everything!

Our Attitudes and Perspectives Are Everything!

Hi All! I'm through with chemo #4 and only have 2 more treatments to go. Woohoo! All of the good thoughts and prayers people have been saying for me are working because I feel fantastic! Yes, chemo #4 by far felt the worst but my bounce back this time was so much quicker than the others and my energy level has gotten much better. I spend more time these days listening to my body and less time listening to distractions which are guiding me in the right direction, towards health and wellness!,,,
